TCBY: Thank God It's Friday.

Last day of the damn week. Hooray. Playing at Tiffany tomorrow and cleaning el coche. Need to donate half of my belongings to a local charity, due to the fact that I own 908 t-shirts. Got the ole two-wheeler out and put some air in her tires. Might take her off-road this weekend.
Work will be a breeze today and the weekend will be here soon.

Got the over-sized glasses here at work. Always a laugher.

New Coldplay CD is as Glenda would put it, "Off the Chain."

The Not-so-Smoking Guns

Smoking Guns game 2, not a success, despite my efforts of going 3 for 3 and still batting a 1000 on the year. We just have some guys that can't hit the dang ball and look like they haven't picked up a bat since they were 6. The pre-game festivities were good, wings and beer at the Peanut. Kenny hit an inside the park homerun, but the score still turned out to be 21-9 or something like that. Big double header tonight. I think I'll bulk up and see if I can get a hold of BALCO or Lenny Dykstra.

Work is pretty normal and today is some really long name for Secretaries Day. Hopefully, it goes by un-eventfully. Tomorrow is small children running around day.

Got DaVinci Code on mp3, sounds so good when someone else reads it to you, but it also means you almost crash your car when you don't understand whats going on, Damn you iPod.

Wish I was with my snow bunny today.

Fore!!!

Despite an entire day of rain, I still played golf at Tiffany yesterday. And I managed to not do too bad. Maybe it was because of the dollar beers at the clubhouse, or the fact that I didn't warm up. But we finally quit after hole #4, The Green Monster, pictured below. A beautiful hole if you like water and a green that is far away. So yesterday I hit it on the fringe and almost got a bird only to have a torrential downpour halt the ball before entering the hole. You go 6 iron.

So after the short round we went back to the clubhouse and dried up. Mike and I were not too terribly upset to end this water-logged round. Clubs damp, reputation wet.

Smoking Guns game 2 tonight, It's at 9:30, so not only do we get to suck because it's wet, we get to suck because we're under the lights. Hopefully we have enough cold beer to last us until then.

Damn you, John Grisham. You sleep-taker-awayer. The Brethren is too damn good.

Fin de Semana (4/22-4/24)

Friday: After work went to the casino, played hold' em for 20 minutes while waiting for Kate and Andy to get there. Tripled up. Ate crab legs at the buffet and I'll tell you what, let the crabs keep 'em. I'll stick to crab rangoon. Got done eating, met Trent, Kenny and Matt, had a few beers. On the way back from the bathroom, played $5 in a quarter slot, hit two double diamonds and made $100. So it was a good night at the casino. We decided to head to the plaza, we got B to the E's and our first stop was Mi Cocina. Trent picked up an Australian guy and we all had a Mambo Taxi, the second best drink on the planet. We then went to have Strongbow at O'Douds. Kenny and I jammed to the band while Trent was trying to figure out why he had a fixation of dancing with every girl in the bar. So after a Strongbow or two we called it a night.

Saturday: Went to some golf stores, Dirk's to play shuffleboard, played some poker and got myself mentally ready for the evening events. Went to Andy's around 8 and after watching the heart wrenching Ladder 49, left for Bonita Flats, no relation the the John Steinbeck book, Tortilla Flat. Bonita Flats happens to be a drinking establishment where the female employees do not wear tops. And at times they also try to get crumbs off your face with there breasts, for a small fee of course. Every drink in the place was $2 from water to Cognac. So Josh managed to have every shot feasible and we made it to Tomfooleries in an uneventful manner. We stopped for food along the way home and while eating in the car in the parking lot at Zona Rosa, I saw one of the funniest things ever. A white Suburban pulls up and 7 guys jump out and all decide to urinate right outside the vehicle. Much to their chagrin, 2 young Policeman happened to be strolling along. Needless to say, they got caught with there *expletive* out.

Sunday: Went to my 3rd Royals game of the year, only to see them lose to the White Sox. Went to the batting cages at night.

So all in all the weekend was a success. I'm tired and hopefully golfing this afternoon will bring me back to life. But until then, I'll keep working for the man. And you better believe I'm eating lunch at Smoking Guns.

Rain and Poker (4/21)

.

Probably the finest comedian to ever live: Mitch Hedberg. Just have to pay tribute to a guy who can make me laugh. Saw him a month before he died, live at the Uptown. Long Live Hedberg.

So Thursday I almost blew away in a rain/tornado/only in K.C. type storm. The lady came over the radio and was like, "ehhhhhhhhh. ehhhhhhhhh. ehhhhhhhhhhhh. This is a severe weather alert for the kid in the blue car at QT getting gas at pump 6. You are going to die if you stay there, but don't pull out from the awning because of the hail, it will damage your pretty new car. ehhhhh. ehhhhhh. ehhhhhh. This is not a test. Luke."
She wasn't actually talking to me but it seemed like I might be joining cows flying around in a funnel cloud.

Then I wake up this morning to find that what must have been a pterodactyl had pinched one off on my car. It looked like spinach/artichoke dip and bird shit too.

So I am trying to update this thing with pictures for all to see. Especially one of the burrito I attempted to eat from Chipotle.

Feel free to comment on any of what you just read. All commentary is non-confidential and might be published.

Softballitis (4/20)

Played a double header with some old dudes who are way to serious about slow pitch softball. Full uniforms and all. Went 6 for 7 and had 4 RBIs.

Sore as a mo fo, needed to stretch practically all night, looked like I was playing an air guitar ballad on my knees with my head all the way back. I swear to God that after graduation from college you are allowed to be "old". Things just don't work the way you used to and now I realize that beer is the cure for almost any ache and pain. Now I see why braces for body parts is such a lucrative market.

No athletics until Golf league next Monday night, with maybe a stint of softball for Trent's thing on Saturday. "Quasi-Bachelor-Last-Vagina-Party"

Maybe go to the Royals Friday or Saturday.

Smoking Guns (4/19)

The Smoking Guns inaugural softball game was last night. Starting the game off with a 4-0 lead we thought we could cruise along and stay ahead of the game. Then something went horribly wrong......
A) Multiple collisions
B) The sun was intentionally moving so it was right in your line of sight.
C) All of a sudden the game was over and it was 21-4

Side notes, Trent made an error then threw the guy out at second, I'm batting a 1000, Matt throws like a girl. But in the end we had a few beers in the parking lot and finished the night off at Margarita's. Only to see Matt not fit in the high chair. I'm a dollar richer because of it.

So Smoking Guns Record-0 Everyone else-1.

Playing on another team tonight, we have a double-header so maybe we can win, or even if we lose at least I can chew more sunflower seeds.

Alright, gotta go see a man about a mule.

Golf on Monday (4/18)

Played Tiffany Greens. Nicest course ever. Shot a 54 so I could get a sweet handicap, 30 mile-hour winds helped....throw my ball into every man made object on the course.

Use the Google search bar at the bottom of this blog, I get paid everytime you search for something. And if you search, I'll owe you some money.

Smoking Guns first game tonight. We won't win, but we will lose.

Sunday.

Boated. Burnt.

Thursday and not a cloud in the sky.

Game was good yesterday, didn't catch a foul ball, but Kim got ketchup on my pants. I am well rested today at work. Just drank hot tea and burnt my tongue. So everything tasted like nothing.

I am off to the poker room tonight. "A bit of luck will come my way" is what my fortune cookie reads. But who needs luck. Luckiness is in my blood. Perhaps it's because Asians always spell my name Luck. ????...

Grad school intro on Saturday, Poker Tournament on Saturday night.

Friday night is up in the air.

Go Cubs.
